Thankful!

With Thanksgiving coming up tomorrow, I thought about all of the different things I am truly grateful for in my life that I may neglect on a daily basis. I wish there was a way to keep this feeling alive all year, and am working on making that a reality for myself. I think that Thanksgiving is one of the best "holidays" we have as a society, and one that is easily brushed over in favor of the new holiday-- Black Friday. Ugh.

I realize that the origins of Thanksgiving may not be ideal, but I do love that once a year we get to sit down with family and really recognize and appreciate what we are thankful for in our lives and in each other. We get the chance to catch up, laugh, tell each other all the things we forget to say regularly, and enjoy some good old fashioned cooking!

My life is pretty incredible, a fact that I seem to easily forget most days. Again, something I am working on changing... it is a process.

I am alive. I am healthy. I have healthy friends and family. I have an unbelievable supporter, lover, friend, and inspiration in my husband. I have Pepe le Moo... the cutest, and sometimes worst, dog that ever lived. I have Saffron the Kitty, sweet and simple love. I have a job that allows me freedom. I have a nice apartment with nice things. I have spirit. I have passion and drive. I am living in Hollywood pursing my dreams. I am talented. I am making my dreams a reality. I have spirit and faith. I am financially stable (something I could not have said 2 years ago).

This list is just a very small sampling of all the amazing realities of my life. Just a small list of all the things I am so extremely grateful for.

I am excited to have a day dedicated to remembering all of these beautiful things, and for the chance to share these sentiments with those most important to me (even if just in spirit for my own family party in Utah... I am thinking of all of you and am so grateful for the ways you have all shaped who I am today).

I would love to see some integrity brought back to this holiday. I don't celebrate Thanksgiving as an excuse to celebrate Black Friday. In fact, I never go shopping on Black Friday... just not my idea of a good time... I digress.

What are some things that you are grateful for this Thanksgiving?
